Although it's been a turbulent 18 months, the plans for an 'all year round' leisure facility in South Wales continues to progress, with a planning application likely to be submitted later this year (so in a few short months).
Further work has been concluded with inspiring design amendments that the team proclaim 'will be a significant landmark for Wales'. A c.400-meter snow centre, water park and hotels are creatively designed as a genuine resort experience with the addition of a multi-purpose outdoor piazza area, perfect for events and open-air exhibitions.
The team at Rhydycar West will launch a formal public consultation in September this year before a fully comprehensive planning application is submitted to complete the public consultation.

A spokesman from Rhydycar West said, "We believe the proposals will be one of the most transformative projects in generations for Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding area. It's essential, especially for those in the Valleys communities, to find out the facts and make your voice heard over the next few weeks. It's integral to our application that all the information and an accessible line of communication is available to everybody.".
The Rhydycar West team opts for a digital-first approach for the consultation whilst COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines are in place. Information is already available on the Rhydycar West website www.rhydycarwest.com with various touchpoints to give feedback and contact the Rhydycar West team. Additional to the surveys and enquiry forms currently on the website, video meeting drop-in sessions will be arranged to provide detailed information and answer questions.
