Rhydycar West signs MOU agreement with Batri Ltd and DST Innovations Ltd to bring green tech to Merthyr Tydfil

Rhydycar West has signed a memorandum of understanding with Bridgend based green technology specialists Batri Ltd and DST Innovations Ltd, setting out how the organisations intend to work together to explore and develop sustainable initiatives at the ground-breaking project in Merthyr Tydfil.

The teams are coming together with the objective of creating the most energy efficient, low carbon, and sustainable solutions for the project, including solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting and smart control systems.

The agreement has been signed after Batri Ltd and DST Innovations Ltd were selected by Rhydycar West as Welsh innovators in the use of green energy technology, and with a large catalogue of examples of their work at world renowned leisure facilities.

Dr Stephen Hughes, CTO of Batri Ltd said “The Rhydycar West project has the potential to be a trailblazer for large scale, sustainable, and fully integrated developments. By harnessing the clean and green energy generated on site using solar carports and PV arrays, and storing this in batteries, visitors will be able to enjoy the benefits of the wonderful leisure destination, safe in the knowledge that their trip will be a green one.”

Tony Miles, CEO of DST Innovations said “We’re excited to be working with the team at Rhydycar West. This development is incredibly inspiring and is a wonderful chance for Welsh businesses to work together to showcase Wales as an exhilarating destination that makes the most of its wonderful natural resources.”

Ali Tyebkhan, CEO of Rhydcyar West said “Our collaboration with Batri Ltd and DST innovations Ltd represents an important part of our commitment to environmental responsibility, supporting Welsh businesses and working to combine world-class leisure facilities with cutting-edge technologies.
